Here's a list of some songs that first appeared in Banjo-Tooie that make a reappearance:<br>

<li>Jinjo Village - Jinjo Challenge, Showdown Town</li>
<li>Mayahem Temple - Banjoland (Challenge & Day)</li>
<li>Witchyworld - Nutty Acres (Challenge)</li>
<li>Hailfire Peaks - The Jiggoseum</li>
<li>Cloud Cuckooland - Banjoland (Challenge & Day)</li>

I've also been uploading the Super Nintendo equivalents in the Song of the Day section. A few more of the better songs of Yoshi's Island DS in lossless.<br>

<br>

A bonus image for Kirby fans: word is that Nintendo of America Photoshops most Kirby box art so that he's angry instead of happy like he's in Japan. Well the true story is that the photographer just catches him at different times. Inhaling all of those enemies has simply played too much of a toll on his psyche, making him a bit bipolar. I did a bit of un-Photoshopping to show you what I mean.<br>

This comes from a pretty cool Sega game that may not be released outside of Japan. I recently converted and tagged more unreleased songs into lossless 2 loop form, so keep an eye out for those soon in the Song of the Day section. Examples include the title music from Link's Crossbow Training, Wii Sports, and Super Mario Sunshine, the tutorial from Wii Music, as well as the elevator song from Conker: Live & Reloaded. More to follow, plus Yoshi's Island DS once I finish making a tool that will allow me to convert Nintendo DS music in the same style as previous releases.<br>

<br>

Options, options, options! I ripped Mario Party 8 in three different ways: one loop mp3, two loop mp3, and source files. Hopefully between all those options, you'll be happy. :) Thank you Cthulhu (the tagger) for your patience! I always get way too obsessive compulsive about stuff. Take the album art for example: I spent a few hours morphing a wallpaper with high res box art and lots of touch up, just so I could take out the title and move it. All of that invisible work was simply because of the square ratio of album art compared to tall game box art. A few days later, I spent a couple hours experimenting with how to get "The Soundtrack" text more seamlessly integrated into the overall composition, eventually settling on mimicking the style of the Wii banner.

I'm going to try to take a break from art this time around so that I can spend my time on other work. Does somebody out there wants to take a stab at designing the cover for Yoshi's Island DS? Whoever sends me the a professional looking design will get it featured on the site! If it's difficult to decide, maybe I'll create a new page section for user submitted covers!

<title>SSBB Originals: The Legend of Zelda</title>
<link href="http://www.videogamescrapbook.com/super_smash_bros_brawl_ssbb/?music=4"/>
<id>http://www.videogamescrapbook.com/super_smash_bros_brawl_ssbb/?music=4</id>

<br>

Thought this took forever? Well, so did I! Basically I kept perfecting it until I ran out of ideas on how to make it as good as it could be.
This is in contrast to the Donkey Kong set, which could have used more refining before release.<br>

<ul>
<li>I listened to the Brawl versions many times in order to make sure I didn't miss any songs.</li>
<li>I sailed the web getting all of the raw material I would need to create lossless quality rips.</li>
<li>I researched and found the most up to date audio ripping programs and settings.</li>
<li>In order to capture the in-game version of Dragon Roost Island (which could not be emulated or recreated using official releases),
I spent a few hours finding out a way to get it with the least amount of ambiance possible.</li>
<li>In order to get around the somewhat random nature of the Hyrule Field songs, I meticulously studied the behavior of the dynamic switching, recorded lots
of reference, and recreated the exact order of Brawl's sequences through exact edits. I even made sure to get such details correct as transition
themes that have to occur in the original game but are absent from the Brawl versions.</li>
<li>I did a lot of experimentation to find the right balance of keeping song volumes consistent with the original games
and making sure switching from different game systems wouldn't cause a jarring experience.
<li>I studied a variety of official soundtracks to figure out the right style of fading and padding that would act as a balance
between several schools of thought. I strove to have each song to be just satisfying enough without risk of overdoing it, so that you
would desire to play the album many times.</li>
<li>I timed the fades to match the fadeout of the Brawl version whenever possible.</li>
<li>I confirmed the accuracy of every composer tag.</li>
<li>I included official OST titles in the comment tag.</li>
<li>I tagged every source file and created playlists to accommodate people with different plugins.</li>
</ul>

Multiply however long you think that took me by the number of times you think I scrapped work because of trial and error. Your guess is too low.

<br>

Thanks to Matt J., the Wario Land soundtrack is now fully tagged and in the proper order. I also re-ripped the songs with S-curve fadeouts instead
of linear, so it sounds more like an official soundtrack (like the rest of the albums on this site).<br>

<br>

I decided to focus on the nostalgic songs for Banjo because it would require a lot of editing time to do them all--
doubling up the songs at a loop point you need to find manually in order to do a proper fadeout. If you know how to use a multi-track
audio or video editing program, then contact me if you'd like to help.

<br>

For those of you who didn't notice, I went back and added the emulated songs to the Brawl Originals series. If you don't know what that means,
just stick with the mp3 downloads. I also did tons of research on getting the most accurate high quality sound from games, and I redid the Mario
pack from scratch a few weeks ago. You can tell if you have the latest by looking at the song count (you should have 23).<br>

<br>

The Donkey Kong pack features songs from the original arcade version that I painstakingly created from MAME recordings and piece by piece editing to get
rid of the sound effects. Like the Videlectrix songs, the amount of effort probably wasn't worth it unless there are some hardcore fans out there.<br>

<br>

I've been tweaking "Myst Saga - Ambient Tour" off and on over several years. I think it's ready to be released now that the ending to the Myst series has
essentially been written (though efforts will continue to keep up Uru Online). I really believe that working on something gradually rather than all at once helps give
you added perspective, so I'm especially pleased with how this turned out. I hope it will be something that you will want to listen to many times.<br>

Videlectrix games are free online without advertising, so you should definitely check them out if you haven't already.

of the rest of the compilation album. You have the old version if the first song is six and a half minutes long. There are also shorter gaps between
the tracks so that they better flow from one to another, and I did some small volume adjustments to the quiet parts so that you won't have to keep
adjusting the volume as much.

If you've downloaded this before, I'd say pass. But if you're dying to have a slight improvement in quality to the "Brawl Meets Suicidal Snake Mix" I
made, or if you must have the "cutscene music" with the correct artist tags and official titles, go right ahead! You could also look at the song list on the page

<br>

That's actually a pretty powerful feature I finally finished coding, which allows me to pick and
choose showing tags of the music, and have the option of providing individual song links. Unfortunately that's part of what caused the site
to go down in the first place, since there are music player sites that specialize in crawling the web and leaching off of any mp3 it can find.<br>

Metal Gear Solid 4 is almost upon us! In celebration, I was working on a Metal Gear series compilation album. Right now however,
I'm just a bit distracted rebuilding the foundation of the site.

<br>

Rockstar updated their website with the rest of the radio station montages, so here you go. I decided the best way to handle updated releases
is to split them up into parts, so you won't have to re-download any of the songs you already have. If you have the first 6 songs, all you need is
Part 2. If not, download Parts 1 and 2.

I spend quite a bit of time recording, adding fades, making cover art, researching tags, uploading videos, etc., even for a soundtrack as simple as this. Much more
than I could ever spend playing the actual games. Hmm, something isn't quite right there.<br>

Today marks the end of a weekly release schedule now that I'm putting myself on a daily one. I'm going to give you very up to date
exclusive downloads as well as links to downloads from official videogame company websites.<br>

<br>

I was already overworking with the weekly
delivery, so I've just committed myself to never having free time. Oh well, fun is overrated. Just kidding, this is pretty fun to me!<br>

<br>

<br>

<br>

This is the first time this song has ever been released without any SFX. I accomplished this by using 4 different source clips.<br>

<br>

I also put up links to wallpapers from the official site and Rareware.com.

A fitness soundtrack??<br>

<br>
Like the Nintendo Channel, I think this music will probably be under-appreciated since it does<br>
it's job of not being too obtrusive.

Last week I was busy setting up things so that I'll be able to make daily download<br>
posts instead of weekly ones. Will you be able to handle it?<br>

So I posted the Nintendo Channel soundtrack I made. One of my favorite parts about<br>
the release of a new Wii channel is hearing the new music. Each song is simple, but fits<br>
each channel really well.

<li>The titles follow previous official Mario Kart soundtracks.<br>
<li>The composers, artists, and years for every song have been tagged.<br>
<li>The song order is based off of what would be likely on an official soundtrack. If you want the final lap versions to alternate with the regular songs, just change their disc number to 1.<br>

<b><i>"This is dangerous. It's a little risky. To have so many of these individuals providing music for a single work may very well be an historic event in the history of video-game music!"</b></i><br>
-Sakurai, May 22, 2007<br>

<br>

Even with these words and that long list of composers, I doubt many people realized how epic the soundtrack really would be. It's simply massive. I've spent a great deal many fortnights cataloging this beast, and experimenting with ways to present it in the best manner possible. Ultimately I discovered that the only right way to do it was to offer several options. This is simply the first.<br>

<br>

On the horizon:<br>
-two loops version<br>
-mp4 format for iPods<br>
-lossless version<br>
-OST equivalents with endings instead of loops (especially needed for vocal songs)<br>

<br>

And the most ambitious project of all: the non-arranged originals of every track to suit your nostalgic/curious fancy.<br>

<br>

I will be releasing them to the website and via torrent. Not sure how much traffic I can take, so I really appreciate whoever uses the torrent option, especially whoever seeds!<br>

These songs are in professional quality, with manual fadeouts, unique album art for each track, and extremely detailed tags.<br>
I'm mostly finished with the rest of the soundtrack, just need to finish polishing each one on a day to day basis.<br>
Probably a couple weeks more of work. This is by no means a lazy rip. Enjoy!

<br>

So besides obsessing a little too much over the quality of game soundtrack releases, I'm also working on a webcomic that will explore
all of the Nintendo universes and what happens when they collide outside the context of Subspace Shenanigans. The third entry gives away that
it's going to be a "multimedia webcomic", something that stays true to comic aesthetics but injecting a bit of "bells and
whistles". Which is like heroin, only less stealthy. Thankfully the mute button is there to save the day for those who don't want to receive
aural pleasure (or simply can't because it is deemed 'inappropriate' for the workplace).<br>

<br>

Next on the agenda: the complete Brawl soundtrack, the first rip on the web (as far as I know) that won't have
tiny pops on a few of the track's loop points, and that has professional fades, tags, and artwork.<br>

<br>

On the horizon: the non-music files ripped off of the Brawl disc, rare video game music, play through videos that summarize
games in a few minutes of non-stop action, and the sun, which promises to burn us all in one all encompassing glorious
inferno of blazing passion.
